Besides being a trusted residential and commercial fuel provider for New England homes and businesses, Broco Energy® fulfills another key role. We’re certified for emergency fuel delivery by both the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Coast Guard. IN addition, we are contracted to serve as the emergency fuel provider for the Massachusetts Energy Marketers Association (MEMA).
Thanks to the partnerships that we have set up throughout the country, our Priority 1 emergency-response team can be found on the scene wherever we’re needed, providing immediate emergency fuel deliveries until the trucks we’ve deployed arrive on site.
When it comes to emergency fueling needs, Broco’s Priority 1 team offers:
The Priority 1 emergency-response team keeps operational readiness around the clock, able to respond to any disaster at a moment’s notice. We can activate at once in New England, and with 12 to 24 hours’ lead time for response in the South.
Qualified to respond to all levels of emergencies, our team is made up of experienced fuel-truck drivers and fuel-logistics coordinators. We can manage extreme weather events and other high-pressure situations, offering critical fuel support when it’s needed most.
Disaster relief means more than just oil trucks and supplies. Our response includes workforce and logistics coordinators who will send oil tanks, do remote monitoring, and schedule emergency fuel service and deliveries as needed throughout the duration of the incident.
In 2017, Broco Energy® was activated to provide relief efforts for FEMA in Florida during Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. That was the beginning of our national Priority 1 emergency-response team.
We left Boston with six oil tank trucks loaded with diesel and gasoline to provide fuel for priority facilities on a 24-hour basis. We stationed our trucks at local hospitals for generator refueling and at appointed fueling points to help the Urban Search & Rescue Task Force.
The following year, the Broco Energy® team went to the Carolinas to help with the recovery efforts from Hurricane Florence. While stationed there, we were asked to return home to provide generators, which supplied heat to thousands of residents left without natural gas service due to multiple natural gas explosions in the Merrimack Valley.
We started with a small response by teaming up with fire departments on the scene, and then, once the incident was stabilized, we oversaw fixing the gas main.
The operation lasted from September into the winter. Broco Energy® provided fuel service to more than 500 generators 24 hours a day for over three months, until new natural gas pipelines and equipment could be installed.
In the years since, we have responded to numerous natural disasters in multiple states, including Georgia, South Carolina, Florida and Louisiana.
Today, the Priority 1 emergency-response team at Broco Energy® stays ready to respond to and help any community in the country hit by power outages after disasters with emergency fueling and Priority 1 delivery service–every day of the year.
Emergency situations call for swift, organized response, with no hesitation and no room for no mistakes. For areas affected by hurricanes, as well as ice storms, floods and widespread power outages, our professional, expert team is on the scene with the emergency fueling that’s necessary to help communities recover from damage.
If you live or have a business in Essex County, MA or one of the many other communities in our service area in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, please reach out to us if you would like to become a Broco Energy® commercial or residential fuel customer.
